Everyone Loves a Good Story.

by Mark Landson, Editor in Chief

The violin carries with it a special charm and romance that has produced countless tales, both fictional and true.

The story I've chosen to kick off the site is a fictional story from a famous musician who we normally associate with bands, however, John Philip Sousa also was an accomplished violinist in addition to writing some of America's most famous marches, he wrote several works of fiction, of which The Fifth String was his most well known. It hasn't lost any of its intrigue in the interim 100 years, and when I discovered it, I read it without stopping until the end. Since this is the internet, I've broken it up into its separate chapters for easy web consumption. Yum! I promise you won't be disappointed. One thing, though - what is it with the devil and the violin? Lucifer just can't keep his hands off violinists! We'd better watch out! :)
