About The Violin Space

The Violin Space is a place where violinists, both amateurs and professionals, can come together to share their experiences and knowledge about the Violin! And not just the little one. It's about the whole violin family - violas and cellos, too.

It's like a magazine where your only limitation to getting published is your ability to make great content! Unlike a traditional magazine, there's not one editor that you have to please to get noticed. Articles are judged by the users of the site, and those that are deemed most interesting and worthy will get the highest placement on the site.

The idea is simple.

Teachers and other professionals can publish what they know about their craft and art. Not only does it help the community, but it also raises the profile of the contributing authors among both professionals and potential students or clients.

In addition, professionals can keep in touch with students or clients by regularly sending them quality articles from the Violin Space. Teachers, why only interact with your studio on their lesson day? Your students will love the new tips you send their way, and the interesting stories about famous violinists, composers, or other tidbits will keep you and the violin in their minds between the times you see them. Striking a balance between user content and editoral control is what led me to create this model. Because Violin Professionals have the most interest in sending articles to their mailing lists, and have complete control over the content that will go out, this provides a level of editorial influence that I hope will help the quality of content rise to a level that may eventually rival or even surpass printed publications.
